I’m looking to interview successful business women and men who have combined their passion for their art with their business savvy, and made a place for themselves.
By artist, I mean someone who actively does their art (writing, painting, dancing, fiber arts, etc.).
By entrepreneur, I mean someone who is earning a living through business transactions.
I understand my definitions are broad. That leaves room for your interpretation.
By successful, I mean you make a living from your art or from what you know about doing your art. Please email me at beth @ bethbarany . com if you’d like to be interviewed.
My interviews will be here at the Artist Entrepreneurs United blog, and are for an upcoming book, and related projects.
I am also open to hearing what you think about this concept of “artist entrepreneurship.” Is it feasible? Desirable?
I post on this topic on Eric Maisel’s Creativity Central blog. My latest post is here:

Hi Beth,
I saw your request on twitter.
( In fact, I really enjoy how you are using twitter)
I am an artist entrepreneur and have been making my living that way for 20 + years.
I’d love to be interviewed if you’re interested.
Warmly,
Rebecca, Director, ART YOWZA
wonderful work you are doing beth……visit my facebook to connect …….i recommend Rebecca Schweiger for an interview….her work moves color through pores of paper, alive and drenched spirit combine into fluid and orchestral sound….she teaches painting and is a painting…herself expressed.
Thanks Rebecca and Georgi! I will be following up!
Best,
Beth Barany
Is it desirable? Absolutely! I dream of one day being able to make a living through my art and creations. My dream life for the future: A stay at home mom, growing most of my own food in my own organic garden, creating a variety of nature-inspired creations… beaded, formed from clay, photographed, painted, whatever! And selling my art, crafts, and photography to make enough income to live. Maybe teaching yoga, too….
Until I make that dream a reality, in the meantime I’m teaching 3rd grade at a public school and selling my photography and handmade cards online (http://heartofnature.etsy.com and http://heartofnature.1000markets.com)… in other words, I don’t qualify for your interview, but good luck and perhaps I’ll be a fitting candidate for your next book!
